THE FAULCONER SCHOLARSHIP ELIGIBILITY

• Applicants must live in the Tyler Junior College District which includes the Independent School Districts in Chapel Hill, Grand Saline, Lindale, Tyler, Van and Winona, Texas.
• Must be a graduating senior.
• Must have maintained a 2.5 GPA.
• Must be African-American or Hispanic-American.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE

Applicants must complete the Faulconer Scholarship Application and mail it to:

Applications - including essays, transcripts and references - must be mailed and postmarked on or before March 1st. Do not email, fax or hand deliver applications.

In addition, applicants must provide an official high school transcript, a 1-2 page typewritten essay about career and educational goals, a completed application reference form and letter of reference from a counselor or teacher and a second completed application reference form and letter of reference from a non-family community member.

Students who are graduating in the top 10% of their class and wish to begin at a four-year college or university must complete an additional one-page essay indicating why it is important that they do so. In addition, they must show how they will pay costs not covered by the Faulconer Scholarship while attending an upper-level college or university.
