PROGRAM HISTORY
Vernon E. Faulconer is the founder and CEO of Vernon E. Faulconer, Inc. an independent oil and gas company headquartered in Tyler, Texas. In 1990, Mr. Faulconer established the Faulconer Academic Incentive Award for Minority Students at Tyler Junior College. Since that time, scholarships have been awarded to more than 350 African-American and Hispanic-American students.
In 2003, Mr. Faulconer established the Faulconer Scholarship Program. Currently, forty new scholarships are awarded each year to graduating seniors from schools within the Tyler Junior College district. In addition to scholarships, the Faulconer Scholarship Program provides staff to work with scholarship candidates and with scholarship recipients on college and career planning.
Mr. Faulconer has been an active member of the board of Grinnell College, his alma mater, since 1984. He also serves as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Dallas Museum of Art and is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Chinati Foundation. |
